Lucy Jane and Paul Sinclair with the Fifth Gear TV Team
On Suzuki Hayabusa - Video In the Funeral Service Journal
Lucy travels on motorcycle funerals from Oxford to Cornwall to Aberdeen. One recently televised funeral was close to her home town in Plymouth. Since leaving school she worked in Oxfordshire, amongst other things at BMW. Deep down she had a passion to do something meaningful as well as mechanical so she applied for a job at the Mid-counties Co-operative Funeral Society, who took her on immediately. Lucy energetically embarked upon a new career in funeral directing and made it her goal to be as professional and people sensitive as possible.
In 1989 Brixham born, Galmpton raised motorcyclist Lucy Jane, moved to Oxfordshire’s Carterton and went to the historical Burford School & Community Collage in Burford. With her mum, a mortuary manager, her brother and sister she then moved into Oxford itself.

Lucy being interviewed on BBC Radio
It was inevitable that when she discovered there was a Motorcycle Funeral company her ears would pick up. Funeral by motorbike? Not just a motorcycle funeral company, the only one! Despite the company’s construction unit being based in Measham, 90 miles away, Lucy got on her bike, a Suzuki RF600R, weekly. She trained in combination riding, an unknown art today and gave her Summer holidays to gain further experience. Her professionalism shined through and in 2007 she became the UK’s first full time lady hearse rider. Lucy provides a funeral by motorbike all across the UK, but she also provides years of funeral experience and expertise.
